An Abertillery man was found with 14 foil wraps of cannabis in his house.
Jason Roughton, 22, of Oak Street, was arrested on November 27 after police went to his address looking for another man.
During a search, the wraps of cannabis were found along with weighing scales, a mobile phone and £25 was also seized.
Roughton said he bought it earlier that day in bulk to save money and wrapped it to limit the amount he smoked.
Roughton pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis at Caerphilly Magistrates Court yesterday.
The court heard he wants to help himself get away from using the drug.
He was given a nine-month conditional discharge in September for possession of cannabis.
Roughton was given a 12-month community order, a supervision requirement for 12 months and a drug rehabilitation requirement for six months.
No punishment was given for the breach of his conditional discharge and the weighing scales and drugs will be destroyed.
