A 38-year-old man caught growing cannabis plants at his home told police he was sick of buying rubbish and decided to harvest his own.
Andrew Shaw, of Valley Road, Shipley, pleaded guilty to producing 27 cannabis plants with a potential yield of £9,000.
Bradford Crown Court heard today that police raided Shaw’s home on February 24.
Shaw said he was growing the drug as a non-profit making project for himself and his friends.
He was sentenced to an intensive alternative to custody order with supervision and 60 hours’ unpaid work.
