A POLISH man, with an address in Holland, has been charged in connection with the importation of 70,000 Euro worth of cannabis resin at Rosslare Harbour last week.
Gardai arrested Maciej Pinowski (36) at Rosslare last Wednesday afternoon following the discovery of cannabis resin in a car which disembarked off a ferry from Cherbourg in France at 2.45 p.m.
Six kilogrammes of herbal cannabis were found concealed in the fuel tank of a Volkswagen Passat.
The find resulted from risk profiling and the drugs were discovered following an indication by prolific drug detection dog ‘Dillon’, who has been responsible for the seizure of millions of Euro worth of drugs into Rosslare in recent years.
Pinowski was detained at Wexford Garda Station for questioning before being brought before a special sitting of Wexford District Court on Friday evening.
The Polish national was charged in connection with the importation of the drugs and remanded in custody to Clover Hill District Court this Wednesday, May 20.
