A PARCEL of drugs heading overseas has been picked up by police at the Kingscliff Post Office.
Police yesterday arrested a 52-year-old Kingscliff woman in relation to the discovery of the parcel containing about 20 grams of cannabis.
The package was intercepted by police during a search of the Kingscliff Post Office earlier this year.
Inspector Darren Steel of Tweed/Byron police said officers were acting on a search warrant when they allegedly found the illegal drugs on March 18.
He said the parcel was addressed to an overseas recipient, but could not specify which country it was going to.
Insp Steel said he was not at liberty to discuss any investigation methods involved in the incident.
Following enquiries, the woman was arrested at a Kingscliff home yesterday and charged with supplying a prohibited drug and posting a prescribed narcotic.
She was granted bail and is due to appear in Tweed Heads Local Court on June 9.
