A Milford Haven man has paid a heavy price for being caught in possession of cannabis.
Carl Whatling, of 35 Richard John Road, pleaded guilty to the charge at Haverfordwest magistrates court yesterday (Tuesday).
Prosecutor Ellie Morgan said police executed a search warrant at Whatling’s former home on Monday, February 9th .
“The defendant handed over quantities of cannabis and herbal cannabis.
“Police valued the cannabis at £4 and the herbal at £12.50.”
She added that Whatling, aged 25, was previously cautioned for a drug offence in 2008.
Defence lawyer Mark Layton said the small amounts indicated that his client was a past user of cannabis.
“He recognises the substance is contrary to the law and no longer uses it.”
Whatling was ordered to pay £235 in fines and costs.
