THE most common drugs in Ballymoney are cannabis and ‘speed’, according to a police chief.
The issue was raised during a recent District Policing Partnership meeting held at Our Lady of Lourdes School, Ballymoney.
Addressing the six monthly report, a pupil asked: “How many prosecutions have there been in relation to drugs in the Ballymoney and surrounding areas this year? Which drugs are the most prevalent?”
In response John Magill, Area Commander explained: “Most common drugs are cannabis and ‘speed’. There have been eight arrests and reports sent to PPS. Decisions are still to be made. Two people have been charged.”
The police chief then gave pupils examples of the implications of taking drugs.
