A man in his 30s has been arrested after gardaí seized drugs worth €500,000 in north Cork.
Officers from the Cork City Divisional Drugs Squad searched a house in Castletownroche at around 8pm last night as part of an ongoing operation against a city-based criminal gang.
They found cannabis with a street value of €500,000 and arrested a man from the southside of Cork city
He was brought to Fermoy Garda Station for questioning and can be held for up to seven days.
Detectives leading the investigation believe that the haul was destined for the local Cork market in the run-up to Christmas.
