A 38-year-old airport policeman is being investigated by gardaí after 1kg of cocaine and up to 4kg of herbal cannabis was found in his house in Swords last week.
The local drugs unit carried out a search of a premises in the Pine Grove Park area, during an evening raid last Thursday, October 1st.
Following the search, gardaí recovered an estimated 1kg of cocaine and a further 4.5kg of cannabis.
The drugs are believed to total € 120,000, subject to analysis, and a 38-yearold man was arrested and later released.
It’s the largest drugs haul in the Fingal capital this year and gardaí are preparing a file, which will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
‘A house was searched in the Pine Grove Park area of Swords, as a result of ongoing investigations,’ a senior garda told the Fingal Independent.
‘Local members of the drugs unit recovered a quantity of what appears to be cocaine and cannabis. ‘A 38-year-old male was arrested and questioned. He has since been released and a file will be sent to the DPP. ‘Other drugs paraphernalia was also seized, including weighing scales and mixing containers. It’s one of the biggest finds this year.’
