Gardaí have seized drugs worth €1.1 million from an apartment in the affluent Killiney Hill area of south Dublin.

Two woman and a man are being questioned about the find, which emerged as part of a planned operation by detectives from Blackrock Drugs Unit yesterday.

The operation started with the search of a car in Cabinteely but the drugs were discovered during a follow-up search of the Killiney apartment.

“In the course of the search of the apartment gardai seized what are believed to be ecstasy tablets with an estimated street value of €1 million, in addition to quantities of cocaine and cannabis resin with a combined estimated street value of €100,000 subject to analysis,” a Garda spokesman said.

A 20-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man are being held in Dundrum Garda Station and a 61-year-old woman is being questioned in Blackrock Station.

All three are being detained under the Misuse of Drug Act, the spokesman added.
