Police have confirmed the man who was shot in west Belfast on Wednesday is awaiting trial in connection with a drugs charge.
Kevin Sullivan, 27, of Lakeglen Parade in Belfast was wounded in the knees and ankles in the shooting which has been blamed on dissident republicans.
His injuries were not life-threatening.
In April the taxi driver was charged along with four other men in connection with the seizure of cannabis near the Ikea store at Holywood, County Down.
