Officers recover cannabis plants in Newtonabbey

A substantial number of cannabis plants have been recovered by police officers in County Antrim.

The plants were recovered on Saturday following a search of premises in the Doagh Road area of Newtownabbey.

A police spokeswoman said the plants had now been removed for forensic examination.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested, interviewed and bailed pending further enquiries. Police enquiries into the matter are continuing.
