Two years in jail for Mallusk man who kept drugs
A 26-year-old who admitted storing drugs for a man he met in bar has been jailed for two years.
Jailing John Gareth Williams, Belfast Recorder Tom Burgess said the message from the courts had been repeated 
time and again that those involved in the evil trade of drugs go straight to jail.
The Crown Court judge added that if need be in future, jail terms may have to be increased in order to drive that message home.
Prosecutor Amanda Brady said that the 90g of cocaine and almost 0.5kg each of amphetamines and herbal cannabis were uncovered in a planned search of Williams Aylesbury Place flat in Mallusk on March 2, 2007.
Ms Brady said that in interview Williams admitted storing the drugs for £50 a week and for all the cannabis he wanted to smoke.
Solicitor advocate Clive Neville said Williams, “had put himself in this position to help finance his lifestyle, a flat which was costing him 67% of his income, and was clearly living beyond his means”.
He added Williams had played the limited role of a minder.
