NH House panel approves medical marijuana bill

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire legislative committee has voted 13-7 for a bill that would allow seriously ill patients to grow and use marijuana for medcinal purposes.

The bill requires patients to be certified by a doctor before they grow or possess up to six plants or two ounces of marijuana.

Thirteen states have medical marijuana bills on the books.

The House defeated a similar bill two years ago.
